Meet Our 2019 National Lifeguard of the Year: Billy F.
Summer has officially come to an end! This is a bittersweet time of year as we say goodbye to our seasonal teams, but we’re so proud of the accomplishments and relationships you’ve made while working with us over the summer! Each year, American Pool shows special appreciation to our dedicated lifeguards through our Summer to Win program. Throughout the summer, lifeguards are chosen by each office to be celebrated based on their outstanding performance, these guards truly go the extra mile. With every office naming their lifeguard of the week, month, and year it adds up to a lot of winners, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Our best lifeguards are recognized each week and presented with well-deserved prizes and GFL swag. Last but not least comes the greatest honor of all, the National Lifeguard of the Year! Nominations from all of our offices come in and one exceptional guard is chosen to be crowned the National Lifeguard of the Year.
Our National Lifeguard of the Year represents the best of the best, demonstrating the qualities that embody the role of a Lifeguard better than anyone else. This year our selection committee is so very pleased to name a winner from one of our newest operating locations.
We are proud to announce Billy F. as our 2019 National Lifeguard of the Year!
Billy spent his summer working in Houston, TX this summer where he excelled in his role. Billy has worked with American Pool for a few years now, and since joining, he has regularly proven himself as an asset to the team. Demonstrating competence and confidence he has moved up in ranking throughout his American Pool career, from lifeguard, to head guard, to assistant manager, and then in 2019 as a lifeguard manager. As Billy says, “be a leader, be an example…give your best work”. Billy has an awesome work ethic that he says he learned from his parents. Thanks, mom and dad!
Billy takes ownership of every single pool that he guards, even if it’s not his home base. He consistently coaches and inspires his peers to be the best they can be. We are so lucky to have him as a member of our Guard for Life family, and we want Billy to know he will always have a place with us here at American Pool.
Billy is currently a student at Lamar University, where he is studying speech and hearing sciences. We know Billy has a bright future, and wish him the best of luck in his college studies and future endeavors. We are confident he will go far with anything he sets his mind to.
We had so many incredible nominees for the National Lifeguard of the Year from our offices, and we appreciate ALL of you! A nomination for the award is an achievement in and of itself! We want to thank all of our lifeguards for a great season, and we can’t wait to see what next summer brings.
